Job Summary
Superstruct (Pty) Ltd is hiring a full-time Diesel Mechanic to inspect, repair, and maintain our fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment.
The ideal candidate will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure all fleet operations run safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose Faults: Run computer diagnostic tests to identify mechanical and electrical engine issues.
• Perform Repairs: Fix or replace broken brakes, transmissions, steering, and hydraulic systems. Must have knowledge on all engines from cars, bakkies, trucks, cranes, cherry pickers and front-end loaders.
• Routine Maintenance: Complete regular oil changes, fluid flushes, wheel alignments, and tune-ups.
• Inspect Vehicles: Examine parts, safety systems, and structural components for wear and tear. Strong knowledge of diesel and hydraulic systems.
• Test Operations: Test drive or run machinery post-repair to confirm work quality.
• Keep Records: Document all parts used, labour hours, and maintenance tasks accurately.
• Break-down services: On all bakkies & mobile plant equipment.
Requirements and Qualifications
• Education: High school diploma, trade test certificate, or mechanical diploma.
• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of proven experience working as a diesel mechanic.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, hydraulics, and diesel engines.
