Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled, hands-on, and reliable Handyman to join our Construction Department. The ideal candidate will have strong maintenance and repair experience across residential, commercial, or farm environments and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Trade certification in plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, or related trade will be advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Handyman or Maintenance Worker
- Strong experience in:
- Plumbing
- Basic electrical work
- Carpentry
- Painting
- Tiling
- General building repairs and maintenance
- Comfortable working at heights and using ladders
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Willing to work weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required
- Good health and physically fit
- Strong safety awareness
- Reliable, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence
- Willing to travel to other company sites
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs, maintenance, and installation work on buildings, equipment, and machinery
- Conduct inspections and fault-finding to identify maintenance issues
- Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and efficiently
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition
- Assist with general construction and maintenance projects as required
