Job Summary
The Commercial Manager leads pricing, contract management, and internal sales initiatives within the mining sector. This role is responsible for maximizing commercial performance, managing supply agreements, and ensuring competitive and sustainable pricing strategies aligned with business objectives.
The key aspects of this role include:
- Develop and implement effective pricing strategies to optimize profitability and market competitiveness
- Manage and oversee all aspects of contract lifecycle management, including drafting, negotiation, compliance, and renewal
- Drive internal sales initiatives, promoting products and services into the mining industry through cross-functional collaboration
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align commercial strategies with operational capabilities
- Oversee supply contracts, ensuring favorable terms, risk mitigation, and alignment with business goals
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform commercial decisions
- Ensure pricing consistency and governance across all contracts and customer engagements
- Collaborate with finance, procurement, and operations teams to support accurate forecasting and budgeting
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth within existing contracts and supply chains
Experience and Skills required:
- A commercial, marketing or business degree or similar
- At least 7 years of experience in a technical/ mining sales environment
- Proven experience in pricing strategy development and execution
- Strong background in contract management, including negotiation and compliance
- Demonstrated experience selling internally into the mining industry or supporting mining-related business units
- Solid understanding of supply contract management and pricing structures
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance risk and reward
- Effective communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels
