REQUIREMENT
Grade 12
3-5 years' supervisory experience within a workshop/ mechanical repair background
Valid driver's license
Strong administrative skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for meticulous administration and reporting, including following documentation processes and procuring items/stock required for the workshop and sites, as well as mechanical parts
Co-ordinate mechanics in respect of scheduled services and breakdowns, and oversee the Stock Clerk
Schedule machine services and maintain constant communication with mechanics regarding service requirements and progress
Report on breakdown progress and schedule roadworthy tests
Summarise tyre expenses and advise the office regarding operator debt
Complete checklists with operators before they leave the workshop, ensuring required equipment is available, including grease guns, spare wheels, wheel spanners and jacks
Ensure all administrative deadlines are met, including stock takes, job cards and site hours
Accountable for purchase orders, including obtaining quotations, comparing prices, placing orders and maintaining the required documentation
Liaise closely with suppliers regarding order deliveries, lead times and collections
Maintain good working relationships with suppliers and independently resolve supplier queries
Ensure month-end reconciliation of orders, taking single-point responsibility for orders placed and ensuring all invoices are matched to the correct purchase orders and allocations prior to payment
Apply strong analytical and written/oral communication skills while working alongside administrative staff, workshop staff and site managers
Utilise advanced Excel, numerical and reporting skills
