Key Performance Outputs

• Supervising New Builds and existing Facility fit-out upgrades under leadership of Project Manager
• Project planning, surveying, estimating, quoting, scope of work, orders, budgets and technical consulting.
• Sub-contractor and supplier negotiation, supervision and organisation.
• Final accounting, invoicing and cost control capability
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety on site.
• Understanding of Architectural drawings and design specifications.

Requirements:

• Confident, ambitious, hard-working, driven, versatile, approachable person
• Ability to work independently under pressure, meeting all project timelines
• Effective communication skills
• Project Supervision and Coordination experience of at least 3-5 years within the fit-out sector
• Valid drivers licence
• Willing to travel and manage ad hoc out of town projects

Our client, an expanding construction company, seeks to employ a reliable and results driven General Foreman for various building projects around Cape Town region.

Please Note that this role is for a candidate who works independently, has good track record dealing with clients and managing an effective building site to completion.

Key Requirements to Meet:

• You will have Matric, plus 5-7 years experience in managing a building site, specifically residential project and/or small commercial projects
• You will have proven experience in the following functions:

• Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
• Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
• Allocate general and daily responsibilities
• Supervise and train workers and tradespeople on site
• Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
• Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
• Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
• Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget
• Resolve problems when they arise
• Report on progress to the Director and client
• In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSH guidelines
• Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to communicate and report effectively
• Problem-solving abilities

Our client, a expanding and well established building company, specializing in upmarket residential and commercial building projects, seeks to employ 2 Foremen, a experienced Finishing Foreman, as well as a Wetworks Foreman, to join their growing company with projects across Cape Town, the Winelands and Overberg regions

You will have Matric (a construction qualification is advantageous), coupled for 5-8 years experience in managing finishings and wetworks in high-end and luxury residential properties.

Proven experience to demonstrate and key criteria to meet for consideration:

• You must have proven experience in managing site quality of materials, as well as contractors workmanship
• You must have excellent and proactive problem solving skills
• You must have contactable references and a clear credit and criminal record.
• You will be flexible to travel if needed, have exceptional interpersonal skills, effectively communicate at all levels, lead by example and deliver results in a high pressure environment, meeting international standards.
