Site Engineer – Power Plant Operations (Expat Role)

Rotation: 6/2 weeks or 9/3 weeks
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to manage and optimize power plant operations, including diesel engines, PLC systems, and SCADA integration. This role involves ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant operations while leading a maintenance team in a high-demand mining environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for power plant diesel engines and auxiliary systems.
- Conduct periodic overhauls for engines such as Hyundai 9H 21/32 and ABC 16DZC-750 or similar dual-fuel engines.
- Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting (S7-300), remote I/O configuration (ET200SP), and SCADA development (AVEVA).
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Maintain redundancy and reliability of PLC/SCADA systems for uninterrupted operations.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and ensure compliance with QA/QC and OEM standards.
- Provide training and development for maintenance teams to enhance technical skills.
- Enforce safety protocols, conduct risk assessments (JSA), and promote a strong EHS culture.
Requirements:
- Minimum HND/Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automotive Engineering/Technology.
- At least 7 years’ experience in power plant, mining, or heavy industry maintenance.
- Proven leadership in managing CMMS-based maintenance programs.
- Expertise in diesel engine operations, electromechanical systems, and PLC/SCADA troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to urgent operational needs.
