About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Rig Facilities & Testing Manager to take ownership of the company's testing and demonstration facilities used for the evaluation of mineral processing equipment. The facility enables prospective and existing clients to test equipment and processes before committing to equipment investments, ensuring that the equipment meets their specific operational and processing requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the testing facility, coordinating equipment trials, ensuring testing is conducted safely and effectively, and working closely with engineering and technical teams to capture and communicate test results.
Importantly, the role also has a client-facing and business development component, requiring the successful candidate to engage prospective clients, understand their processing requirements, coordinate equipment demonstrations and help generate new testing and commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operation, readiness and safety of the testing/rig facility.
Plan and coordinate equipment testing, trials and client demonstrations.
Work with engineering and technical teams to prepare equipment and resolve testing issues.
Manage client visits, understand their requirements and ensure a professional testing experience.
Monitor testing results, maintain accurate records and prepare reports/recommendations.
Build relationships with mining and mineral processing clients and identify new testing opportunities.
Support business development by generating leads and converting successful trials into commercial opportunities.
Provide technical input to clients regarding equipment capabilities and test results.
Ensure equipment, facilities and documentation are maintained to required standards.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Diploma / BTech / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Process Engineering, Metallurgy, Mineral Processing or related field.
5+ years' experience within mining, mineral processing, process equipment or industrial OEM environments.
Experience managing a technical facility, plant, workshop, testing environment or similar operation.
Strong understanding of mineral processing equipment and processes.
Experience working directly with mining/mineral processing clients.
Strong technical and commercial understanding.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Valid driver's licence.
Willingness to travel when required.
Preferred Experience
Mineral processing equipment / OEM experience.
Pilot or demonstration plant experience.
Equipment testing and commissioning.
Process optimisation.
Technical sales or business development.
Project management.
Understanding of mineral processing flowsheets and equipment.
