Job Summary
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar rental / fleet / operations management environment.
Experience in the MEWP, access equipment, plant hire or related industry – Highly Adv.
Sound working knowledge of mine site compliance and South African legislation relevant to the industry
A proactive, hands-on self-starter who takes ownership and drives results without being managed.
Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving ability under pressure.
Willingness to commit the time and energy the role demands.

Key duties and responsibilities
Take full operational responsibility for the national rental function across all 7 branches and multiple asset types.
Drive fleet utilisation, availability and rental revenue, and manage rates, contracts and turnaround times.
Develop, implement and maintain rental systems, processes, programmes and controls — and continuously improve them.
Ensure full compliance with all applicable South African legislation and mine site requirements (including the MHSA, OHSA, COIDA and related regulations), as a core, ongoing part of the role.
Oversee branch rental performance, set standards, and hold branches accountable to them.
Manage fleet logistics, off-hire/on-hire processes, inspections, servicing coordination and asset movement between branches.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, resolve escalations, and protect Sterling Access's reputation on every site.
Monitor and report on rental KPIs, fleet condition.
