Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Crushing Supervisor/Foreman to join our mining operations team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified artisan with proven crushing and screening plant experience in an open cast mining environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety, Health & Environment
- Comply with all safety regulations as set out in the mine's policies
Maintenance Management
- Assist the planner with planned maintenance schedules and resource allocation
- Monitor the quality of job card feedback and approve
- Conduct daily over-inspections on machines
- Ensure spare parts are available for the execution of work
Equipment Availability
- Scrutinise downtime information in the control room system to ensure accuracy
- Monitor equipment performance after breakdowns or planned maintenance to measure artisan quality of work
Quality Management
- Acknowledge job card processes within 2 days and communicate possible setbacks
- Ensure oil samples and actions taken on recommendations are within set limits
Labour Management
- Discuss 'comebacks' with artisans to identify training needs and/or poor work performance
- Responsible for workshop discipline and teamwork
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- National Senior Certificate (Matric)
- Valid driver's licence
- Qualified Artisan
- N3 in a related field
- Wireman's licence will be advantageous
- Minimum 5 years post-trade experience
- Extensive and proven experience on Crushing and Screening Plants
- At least 3 years' experience on fixed and mobile crushing and screening plants in an open cast mining environment
- Supervisory qualification will be advantageous
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory designation
KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES & ABILITIES
- PC proficient
- Sound verbal and written communication skills in English
- Must be medically fit and able to pass a medical examination as required by the designated mine
