Engineering Manager Certificate of Competency.

Valid Driver’s License & Own Vehicle.

5 Years minimum Post Trade experience as Diesel or EME Mechanic, 4 years as Supervisor and 5 years as Plant Manager.
Computer Literacy required:
MS Office, Internet & Email.
Engineering Software: Asset Management Tool – AMT, CAT: Vims & ET, Cummins Software, Komatsu Software (Or any relevant Engineering Software).
Sage/ SAP/ VIP Payroll.
Duties:
Housekeeping.
Stamp out machine abuse.
Manage and develop personnel, ensure efficiency checks are in place & overtime strictly controlled.
Ensure that daily breakdown report is circulated & concentrate on machines “down”.
Ensure OEE’s are kept at the highest possible levels.
Ensure stock procedure are adhere to.
Concentrate on the four levels of plant inspection and close the loop.
Ensure that servicing is carried out correctly & all personnel are trained.
Ensure component change out program is operational.
Ensure turn-around of PEX for repairs and return to site.
Analyse expediting time frames ensuring shortest acceptable delivery times for spares, repairs & PEX.
Take personal responsibility of REMAN returns.
Ensure SOS program is running smoothly.
Hold monthly budget meetings as per standard format.
Ensure maintenance reserve levels are recorded & are at the correct levels.
Monitor daily income and expenditure & adjust timeously to maintain plan.
Ensure accuracy of pit control reporting and Plant Managers to sign & agree with daily production.
Ensure correct tyre procedure & tyre stocks are maintained.
Hold monthly suppliers’ meetings.
Attend quarterly suppliers’ meetings or enter in conference calls.
Hold daily meetings with Senior Contracts Manager with a view to informing him of the current situation & if assistance as may be required.
Liaise daily with Plant Managers ensuring obstacles precluding them from carrying out their duties are dealt with.
Monitor & manage transport costs.
Follow-up & deal with all warranties.
Personally, get onto and inspect all Excavators, Dozers, and Drills once a week.
Involved in ensuring maximum equipment utilization and optimization.
Ensure that breakdown analysis is done per machine groupings & problem areas addressed.

CAT 777B, C, D & F Dump Trucks.
Komatsu WA 500 & 600 Front End Loaders.
Komatsu 785 Dump Trucks.
Komatsu 275, 375 & 475 Dozers.
Komatsu Excavators PC 1250, PC2000 & PC3000.
325 & 345 Excavators.
834 Wheel Dozers.
938 Front End Loader.
Volvo A40G & A40F.
Bell B18E & B20D.
Light vehicles.
All machines worked on MUST be listed in CV.
