Step into a role where architecture truly drives the business ⚙️
You’ll take full ownership of the architectural direction of a mission-critical payments ecosystem processing billions of transactions across Southern Africa. Leading a small, highly skilled team of architects, you’ll guide technical strategy while remaining deeply involved in design decisions, patterns, and system evolution.
Working closely with developers, solution architects, and business stakeholders, you’ll ensure that every system meets the highest standards of scalability, performance, and security. You’ll play a key role in shaping complex, high-impact initiatives across multiple regions, balancing big-picture thinking with hands-on technical depth.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives on responsibility, influence, and solving complex challenges at scale.
Skills & Experience:
Extensive experience in payment systems, particularly retail transaction processing
Strong technical foundation with a background in software development or solution architecture
Proven ability to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and modular solutions
Strong analytical thinking and excellent communication skills
Experience leading or mentoring technical teams (especially small, high-performing teams)
Qualification:
Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or related field preferred
Demonstrated experience in retail payments or transaction processing
Exposure to software development, testing practices, or enterprise architecture desirable
