Automotive concern is seeking a Electrical Quality Engineer on contract, who will be responsible for ensuring that electrical motor vehicle components consistently meet specification requirements throughout their life-cycle. The role focuses on new part introduction, continuous improvement, problem resolution, and providing technical expertise on electrical components and harnesses to support product quality and customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Initiate and manage the qualifying program for new electrical part introductions.
- Ensure continuous improvement through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Test and evaluate electrical components and harnesses to confirm compliance with specifications.
- Provide technical expertise on materials, function, and design of electrical parts.
- Initiate and support design improvements for complex electrical quality issues.
- Apply quality tools to support problem resolution and process improvement.
- Interface with internal departments and suppliers to resolve quality-related deviations
Minimum Qualifications:
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of motor vehicle electrical components, harnesses, specifications, manufacturing processes, and testing methods
Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and application of quality tools (DOE, SPC, FMEA, 8D).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and presentation skills at all organisational levels.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally; valid driver’s licence required.
