Technical Buyer

Job Title: Buyer (Procurement Specialist) – 4–6 Month Contract Job Purpose

The Buyer will be responsible for supporting and executing strategic procurement activities, with a strong focus on supplier management, cost optimisation, and global sourcing. The role ensures effective end-to-end purchasing processes, supplier performance, and value creation through Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reduction initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or related field
• 3–5 years’ experience in procurement or strategic sourcing
• Experience in the automotive or transport manufacturing sector (advantageous)
• No criminal record
• Strong exposure to supplier management and contract administration

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end purchase-to-pay cycle, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure optimal performance
• Identify, evaluate, and appoint competitive and compliant suppliers
• Conduct market research and sourcing of new global suppliers
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and TCO optimisation strategies
• Perform supplier performance analysis and implement improvement plans
• Manage supplier contracts and ensure compliance with agreed terms
• Analyse procurement spend and provide actionable insights
• Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive planning and analysis
• Support product development initiatives with suppliers where required
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies and ISO standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing intelligence processes
• Support affiliates in resolving sourcing and supply chain challenges
• Drive negotiation outcomes that deliver cost savings and value creation
