A luxury 5-star property in the Winelands is seeking a skilled Chef de Partie to support the kitchen leadership team in delivering consistently high dining standards. The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing your assigned kitchen section, ensuring smooth day-to-day service, excellent food quality, and adherence to established standards. The Chef de Partie plays an important role in supporting senior chefs, maintaining organisation within the kitchen, and delivering well-executed dishes during à la carte service and events.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and run a designated section of the kitchen
Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high and consistent standard
Ensure mise en place is prepared efficiently and accurately
Maintain quality control, portion consistency, and presentation standards
Support the Executive and Sous Chefs with daily kitchen operations
Assist in supervising and guiding junior kitchen staff
Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations (HACCP)
Assist with stock control, ordering, and waste management
Minimum Requirements
Diploma or formal qualification in Culinary Arts or Professional Cookery
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie in luxury hotels, lodges, or fine dining establishments
Strong à la carte service background
Good understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene standards
Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Strong organisational and time management skills
Fully HACCP compliant
South African citizenship (non-negotiable)
