Job Summary
An opportunity exists for an experienced and dependable Boiler House Coordinator to oversee the efficient and safe operation of coal-fired chain grate boilers, biomass boilers, and associated equipment. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a proactive approach to maintenance and operational efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
- 5–8 years’ experience in a similar role within an industrial environment
- Proven experience operating and maintaining coal-fired chain grate boilers (above 20 bar)
- Experience with biomass boilers (advantageous)
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated leadership and team supervision experience
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of coal-fired chain grate boilers and biomass boilers
- Monitor boiler performance and optimise operational efficiency
- Conduct fault finding, troubleshooting, and breakdown response
- Oversee pressure vessel preparation and testing
- Supervise and lead boiler house staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and disciplinary procedures
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and relevant legislation
- Maintain high standards of safety, health, and environmental compliance
- Assist in other operational areas as required by management
- Ensure effective time management and productivity within the team
