Job Summary

• National Diploma in Safety Management / equivalent • Train the Trainer (facilitator training would be advantageous) • Accident investigation • Behavior Based Safety • First Aid • Firefighting training • Basic Principles of Occupational Hygiene • Basic Principles of Environmental Management • Experience as a Chief Safety Officer will be advantageous • ISO 45001 Intro & Implementation Courses • ISO 14001 Intro & Implementation Courses • Internal Audit Course (any ISO standard) • COMSOC I - Chamber of Mines Safety Officers Certificate • COMSOC II - Chamber of Mines Safety Officers Diploma • HIRA - Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Certificate • At least 8 years’ experience in a mining/sinking/engineering environment • 5 years’ experience carrying the legal appointment as Safety Officer as per Reg 2.17.1. • Valid driver’s license • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office package • Mine Overseer’s Certificate/ Engineering Supervisor Certificate • 5 years’ experience as a Shift Supervisor/ Engineering Foreman will be an advantage • Extensive underground experience both conventional and mechanized mining (TMM) • Minimum years of experience not less than 10 years in the mining industry. Job Summary

EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE: • Grade 12 (Matric) • National Diploma Degree in Human Resources or related qualification • Post graduate qualification • Minimum 10 years working experience in a human resources role within the mining environment. • Must have solid IR experience including wage negotiations, liaising with unions and employee associations, dispute resolutions and disciplinary inquiries. • Engagement with various stakeholders. • Solid underground mining working experience SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: • Excellent working knowledge of the MRPDA, LRA, EEA, BCEA, MHSA BBBEE and SDA. • Have sound knowledge of Human Resource Management principles • Sound Labour relations experience. • Recruitment experience. • Labour budgeting experience. • Advanced Computer Skills.
