About the Role: The National Breakdowns Manager plays a critical role in managing the Breakdowns Department, which provides assistance to trucks experiencing tire and other related breakdowns. This position is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the department and ensuring that breakdowns are handled effectively and promptly. Reporting Line: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salary: R60,000 Negotiable, Pension Fund Contribution Direct Reports: Admin Manager Operations Supervisor Indirect Reports: Team of Admin staff Team of Breakdown Controllers National Team / Fleet of Breakdown Technicians Stock Controllers Minimum Requirements/Qualifications and Experience: Matric Related Post Matric Qualification Minimum 5+ years of Breakdowns Experience Minimum 5+ years of Managerial Experience Minimum 5 years of knowledge in the industry (Tyre/Breakdown/Fleet) Experience with Industrial Relations (IR) policies and procedures Purpose of the Job: The National Breakdowns Manager is responsible for overseeing four key areas: Financial KPA: Manage costs within the set financial budget of the Breakdown Division. Customer KPA: Ensure customer service is maintained and achieved. Operational KPA: Ensure all processes are followed and upheld at all times. Learn & Grow KPA: Ensure employees are performing to expectations and are competent and equipped to perform their duties. Key Performance Areas: Financial Responsibilities: Maintain Breakdowns Budget. Customer Responsibilities: Ensure quality in service. Handle external customer escalations and exceptions. Operational Responsibilities: Oversee the control and processing from start to end of customer breakdowns. Manage exceptions and escalations. Learn & Grow Responsibilities: Perform performance management for the team. Foster team development. Address staff turnaround issues. Develop succession planning strategies. Maintain housekeeping standards.
