Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic Lecturer in Grain Storage to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, extensive agricultural experience, and in-depth knowledge of grain grading and silo operations. Minimum requirements
- Matric
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture and Grain Science
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- MUST be willing to travel
- Extensive experience in grain grading, silo operations, and agricultural practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in grain handling and storage is an advantage.

- Expertise in Grain Grading and Silo Management – in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge.
- Teaching and Training Skills – capable of delivering lectures, practical demonstrations, and workshops.

- Organizational and Time Management Skills – able to plan lessons, manage site visits, and meet deadlines.
- Computer Literacy – proficiency in MS Office and relevant agricultural or grain management software.
- Adaptability and Flexibility – willing to travel and work in diverse environments.
- Teamwork and Collaboration – able to work effectively with colleagues, industry partners, and students.
Duties and responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical training in grain grading, silo management, and related agricultural subjects.
- Develop, update, and implement course materials, lesson plans, and practical exercises.
- Conduct practical demonstrations and site visits to provide hands-on experience in grain handling and storage.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and practical assessments.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students on academic and career-related matters.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in grain grading and silo operations.
- Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to enhance the learning experience and curriculum.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessment results.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during practical sessions and site visits.
- Participate in research, workshops, and professional development activities relevant to the field.
Remuneration
R 35 000 per month (Cost to Company)
Work hours
Monday - Friday: 08:00 - 16:30
