Job Summary
Doornkraal Agri, based in the Witzenberg Valley in Ceres, is a leading and well-established producer of apples, pears, nectarines and cherries.
The company has an exciting career opportunity for a hard-working and task-orientated Maintenance Manager, responsible for the maintenance, repairs and projects at all Doornkraal Agri’s production units. The successful incumbent will report to the General Manager: Production.
Responsibilities:
- Development, implementation and management of maintenance plan (proactive & reactive maintenance & repairs)
- Effective maintenance and repair of all equipment, property, buildings, employee housing, workshops & vehicles
- Develop and manage project plans
- Procurement of stock and equipment / tools
- Cost / budget management in conjunction with General Manager: Production
- Management of maintenance team (including 2x Workshop Managers) and service providers
- Health & Safety management / compliance
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Qualified Artisan / Trade test (preferably as Diesel Mechanic)
- Other relevant trade qualifications (Mechanical / Electrical) will be beneficial
- 5-10 years’ experience in maintenance (fruit industry experience will be advantageous)
- Well-developed technical knowledge and experience
- Supervisory and/or management experience
- Well-developed computer literacy (MS Office: Excel)
- Well-developed communication skills (spoken and written Afrikaans and English)
- Planning and organisational skills
- Well-developed leadership & management skills
- Dynamic, self-driven and assertive
