Must have a Bachelors Degree in Agronomy / Agriculture or equivalent
Minimum 5 years’ strong agronomic and sales experience in Vegetables Seeds will be required
Marketing experience will be advantageous
Good knowledge of the Vegetables Seeds market and customer needs is important
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel nationally as well as 10% outside SA
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Organising demo and development trials for customers and promote the varieties during the customer visits.
Supporting the work of the Marketing & Sales teams by providing enough technical information on the product behavior and performance to help them in product positioning and sales.
Visiting some SADC countries to provide technical support.
Generating customer demand for Vegetable seeds relevant to the assigned geography of responsibility to support the Sales Representatives in achieving or exceeding their sales targets.
Ensuring demo field trials are executed and visited by customers for varieties in alignment with campaign plans.
Providing feedback from demo and development trials, registering it on the system and creating reports.
Managing the performance of trials and accompany the Product Manager during regular visits.
Supporting new product launches, executing the campaigns by delivering the key messages and promo materials to customers.
Functioning as the technical reference for the assigned vegetable crops by providing technical support on varieties to customers and sales team as well as marketing operations (trial visits, presentations, technical documents etc.).
Collecting market/competitor information and information on varieties performance and providing them to Product Managers.
Identifying customer needs and resources to ensure successful outcome.
Handling the technical side of the customers complaints.
Providing ad-hoc participation in local pre-HPC and functioning as key member of the respective local crop unit.
Providing technical training and development to our Sales Reps, seed dealers and other relevant channel partners.

Must have a tertiary education (preferably a post-graduate degree) in Agriculture, Marketing or Business Management
Significant background and/or education in crop agronomy or related field will be required
Sound understanding of the seed industry, crop protection, seed treatment, and on the farm activities is important for this role
Minimum 5 years of experience working in marketing and business management as well as experience in the application of crop agronomics and technologies and their contribution to the financial drivers of a grower's business will be required
Demonstrated capability in agronomy excellence and applying capabilities to support commercial operations
Must understand long term technical concept positioning whilst being able to deliver upon short term campaign imperatives
General Marketing practices and dynamics including Digital marketing are important
Must have strong project management skills
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Developing, coordinating and implementing marketing strategies within the seed treatment portfolio on existing products and new product introductions in line with the RSA strategy.
Designing digital strategy as well as digital tools to support the RSA portfolio ambition.
Managing commercial product life-cycle of products in portfolio and ensuring portfolio positioning is in line with the business unit strategy.
Working closely with the South African Business Area functions (Marketing, CPD, Sales, P&S and Finance) to ensure smooth cross-functional alignment on operations (campaigns, project planner, customer events, supply planning, pricing).
Developing and deploying a viable product portfolio strategy.
Contributing as an active member in the Marketing team with dotted line reporting to Marketing Head to ensure alignment between AME and ZA BU ambitions.
Designing targeted marketing campaigns to create grower pull/awareness for seed treatment offers.
Liaising with ZA BU Marketing team, marketing services and external agencies in relation to content generation and execution.
Translating offers to customer (channel, growers, seed companies) needs and detail, including delivery plan, pricing and commercial offers.
Developing and positioning the relevant product portfolio within a dynamic landscape, leading portfolio meetings to define and manage new projects and ensuring successful implementation.
Shaping the Digital strategy (virtual pack offers, customer interactions & trainings, webinars, app, internet & social media).
Measuring campaign & strategy effectiveness with post-campaign surveys & reviews with all relevant stakeholders.
Supporting the product strategy with competitor and market intelligence through relationships with stakeholders and market surveys.

5- 7 years’ experience in Business or Sales in agriculture, preferably in the Southern Africa market will be required
Experience and knowledge of the seed industry as well as technical expertise are important
Crop experience including vegetables and row crops will be ideal
Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Researching, preparing and executing a sales plan focused on delivering new recurring revenue through partnerships with agro-input companies and the public and private sector in the geographies of South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Mozambique.
Developing and managing the distribution channels for assigned products in the geographies leveraging strengths of the company in the region.
Working closely with the Technical team in the registration of products in line with the regulatory requirements of South Africa.
Providing strategic input about which accounts to target and implementing creative solutions to get customers to engage.
Qualifying opportunities - know which deals to work on, and which ones to pass on.
Functioning as an outstanding external spokesperson for the company, its values and products as well as the preparation and negotiation of commercial proposals.
Generating new business by leveraging existing relationships and building new relationships across private and public sectors, NGOs, Government, Commercial and Small Holding Farmers.
Providing market feedback as well as analysing data to aid in decision making.
Traveling to client sites and conducting market visits up to 50% of the time.
