A leading FMCG manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Production Team Leader with strong technical expertise in moulding and proven team management experience. This role is suited to a qualified artisan who has progressed into a leadership role within a high-speed production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise day-to-day production team activities

• Drive and maintain production efficiencies

• Ensure all products meet required quality and compliance standards

• Oversee accurate completion of production documentation and tally sheets

• Monitor and control raw material usage and wastage

• Track machine and mould performance, ensuring optimal output

• Manage and coordinate all on-hold / non-conforming products

• Ensure correct packing, labelling, and documentation at all machines

• Liaise closely with Quality to ensure adherence to product standards

• Allocate and manage staff across machines in line with production plans

• Provide hands-on technical support on machines when required

• Enforce adherence to all health & safety standards

• Maintain housekeeping standards

Technical & Operational Duties:

• Assist with mould changes and machine setups

• Support maintenance activities and ensure machine uptime

• Drive process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives

• Assist with new product trials and recipe development

• Ensure moulds are serviced in line with annual schedules

• Manage mould consumables and conduct weekly stock checks

• Maintain and control critical machine spares

• Ensure preventative maintenance and machine checks are completed

• Participate in weekly production meetings

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric and Trade Tested – Fitter & Turner (preferred) or relevant mechanical trade (essential)

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Shift Setter in manufacturing

• Proven experience managing or directly supervising a production team

• Strong technical and mechanical knowledge

• Exposure to blow moulding / plastics manufacturing (advantageous)

• Experience in a high-speed FMCG production environment

• Strong communication skills across all levels
