Are you an experienced finance professional with strong technical accounting knowledge and a passion for financial accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement? An exciting opportunity is available for a Financial Controller to oversee financial accounting functions and provide reliable financial information to support informed business decisions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, statutory compliance, internal controls, taxation, payroll accounting and fixed asset management within a manufacturing environment.
Prepare and review monthly and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS.
Support plant management with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and variance reviews.
Coordinate internal and external audits, year-end processes and audit-related reporting.
Oversee statutory submissions, tax compliance, VAT reviews and SARS-related matters.
Manage payroll accounting, including payroll payment approvals, journals and reconciliations.
Monitor capital expenditure (CAPEX), tooling and fixed asset registers, tracking expenditure against approved budgets.
Maintain internal controls, risk registers and compliance with relevant financial policies and procedures.
Review general ledger activities, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, provisions and accruals.
Evaluate continuous improvement initiatives, verify savings and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
BCom Accounting degree.
CIMA or CA(SA) qualification required.
5–10 years’ experience in a senior finance role, such as Financial Controller or Finance Manager.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, VAT and statutory compliance.
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Solid ERP system experience; BPCS experience would be advantageous.
Manufacturing industry experience is advantageous, with automotive experience beneficial.
Strong analytical, financial and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent planning, organisational and decision-making skills.
High levels of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
Ability to manage deadlines, take initiative and drive continuous improvement.
A structured, proactive and results-oriented approach.
