Our Client is looking for a Shipping Planner in Cape Town, must have experience in the Shipping Industry.

Requirement

• Needs to have worked in an shipping environment preferably ships agency
• Maritime qualification or workplace experience NQF 5/6 /7 (work experience will be considered if qualification lower )
• Stress Tolerance in an ever-changing environment

• Assist with vessels after work

Duties:

1. Monitor/communicate vessel arrival with colleagues and port authorities
2. Manage the arrangements of berthing and plan accordingly managing third parties etc
3. Manage the authorities and legal requirements to berth the vessel and management of crew requirements
4. Plan the vessel with chief officer
5. Monitor vessel operation(discharge and load)
6. Finalize plan and submit reports as per companies requirements
7. Daily Vessel Operations
8. Arrival and departure reports
9. Compile vessel sailing schedule for local office
10. Process invoices from all vendors in system for Managers approval

The Buyer will be mainly responsible for selecting and developing new and existing products to grow our various brands.

The day-to-day consists of market research, product sales analysis, order management, managing current suppliers, and finding new local and international suppliers for the development of new products. With the help of the in-house systems and team, the successful candidate will be a huge part of helping the company achieve its mission of bringing the world's most loved products to life.

Our client, a leading supplier of home décor and homeware, seeks to employ an experienced merchandise allocator, to join their planning team, in Cape Town

Please note that this role is at a mid-career level and requires advanced Excel skills, as well as experience in demand planning, forecasting and stock level management for stores

You must be able to work independently and accurately keep records and be proactive in your approach to ensuring the profitability of the company.

KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION:

• You will have Matric, with a relevant qualification being advantageous, coupled with 3-5 years experience in merchandise allocation to retail outlets nationally
• You will have gained proven experience in optimizing sales by ensuring stores are optimally stocked and identifying trends to ensure seasonal stock levels are increased accordingly.
• You will have advanced Excel skills, being able to create Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPS, as well as generating detailed reports on stock, sales and forecasts for planning
• You will understand the retail sale cycle, be a good communicator to liaise with stores and ensure accurate data to provide planners and supply chain leadership with accurate figures on stock.
• Sound experience in new product launches and obsolete stock management in store is essential
• You will be organized, meticulous and have a high attention to detail, as well as being able to effectively manage your time and multi-task efficiently
• You must have a valid driver’s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
