Our client is looking for a Quality Control Inspector (Electrical & Instrumentation) with the following requirements and experience:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Executes the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site;
• Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, writes and sends to QC Supervisor non-conformances reports;
• Checks cable laying and cable identification;
• Performs all relevant loop checks;
• Updates as built drawings;
• Performs punch-listing operations;
• Checks power transformers, switchboard, accumulator battery, sockets outlet, lighting system;
• Performs visual inspections, dimensional test, checks rating and material for connection;
• Performs tests of continuity, insulation resistance;
• Calibrates safety valves;
• Calibrates instruments;
• Checks installation of instruments;
• Performs tests functional instruments;
• Checks pneumatic signal connection;
• Checks fiber optic cable;
• Performs test communication functionalities;
• Verify special processes and the relevant workers’ qualifications;
• Witness the tests, controls and inspections carried out;
• Check conformity with the Quality Control Plan, obtain the relevant documentation, check procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls and inspections, manage documents certifying tests, controls and inspections;
• Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan;

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous construction experience within the Petrochemical sphere;
• Matric and relevant qualification;
• Previous exposure to high voltage electrical installation including switchgear and electric drives;
• Exposure to Hazardous Area installations;
• Instrument calibrations including ultrasonic flow meter, level transmitters, temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters etc;
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comparable role;
• A working knowledge of BS/IEC/ISO/API/ATEX/EEMUA codes and standards relating to electrical and instrumentation work;
• Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice and regulations/legislation relating to electrical and instrumentation work;
• Knowledge of safety legislation and regulations;
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Package. Familiar with other computer packages (eg. MS Project, Outlook, WinPCS, etc);
• Hazardous Area installation and inspection experience is an advantage;
• Ability to perform well under pressure;

Our client is looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation Construction Manager with the following requirements and experience:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reporting directly to the GC1 or 2 Construction Manager and indirectly to the overall Construction Site Manager. This role may include the supervision of all or some of the Instrument and Electrical Construction Supervisors;
• Responsible for the successful execution of all the instrument and electrical scope in accordance with the project schedule, cost and other KPIs;
• Responsibility for the safe execution of the work being supervised;
• The in-direct management of a team of instrument and electrical sub-contractor's Construction Foremen and Charge hands as agreed at site;
• Field instrument installation (electric and pneumatic), control value hook up, rack installation, instrument stand installation, cable pulling and termination, DCS installation, optical data highway installation and connection as well as any other work falling within the Instrument Installation Contractors scope;
• HV equipment installation, cable pulling and terminations, all aspects of MV and LV equipment, junction box, MCC installation, lighting and small power distribution and services installation and the QC testing and pre-commissioning of all these pieces of equipment and systems;
• QC inspection to include pre-commissioning, calibration, continuity loop checking etc. and then the continuation of responsibility to the Commissioning and Start-Up phase of function loop checking and systems commissioning;
• Maintain a strong and effective professional working relationship with the Project Management, AP Construction Manager, Client, interfacing EPC's, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders;
• Maintain an open and effective communication channel with the site project team, Site Project Manager and with the Senior Project Manager;
• Represent the Company in meetings with the interfacing EPCs, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders. Lead meetings and record minutes of meetings as required;
• Support and promote the implementation of the Project Safety, Security and Quality plans;
• Support and promote the implementation of the Project Execution Plan;
• Provide strong leadership and coordination to ensure the site team is working effectively to achieve the project KPIs. Identify and address risks and issues, escalating to the Site Project Manager and Senior Project Manager as required;
• Provide leadership to ensure prompt prioritization and coordination of all unforeseen issues at the site, escalating to the Construction Manager and Site Project Manager as required;
• Manage all expenditures at the site in accordance with Company and Project Procedures, and Delegation of Authority;
• Manage time capture and approvals for all reimbursable supervision team resources as required;
• Deputise for the Construction Manager if required;
• Write regular progress reports as required by the GC1/2 and Overall Construction Managers;
• Supervision of Electrical Supervisors, Instrumentation Supervisors, Boilermaker.
• Supervisors and their respective artisans and semi- skilled workers.
• Make sure a high standard of installation is maintained and work is done according to the Site Specifications.
• Ensure a high standard of Safe Working Procedures are adhered to at all times;
• Safety Regulations are followed by Supervision and the workforce;
• Ensure all construction drawings are construction approved and according to the latest revisions;
• Report all faulty drawings to client and raise technical queries. Have daily construction meetings with client about Safety, Progress and assist in finding solutions for construction problems;

Essential Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

• Degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline e.g. electrical, control and instrumentation, etc;
• 15 years of experience in Construction on industrial Petrochemical, or related industry projects which should be construction site based;
• Have a thorough knowledge and proven ability in construction and erection techniques with an emphasis on HV electrical including HV motors, switchgear and transformers, MV electrical equipment, and LV electrical and building services including small power and lighting;
• Knowledge of CENELEC, IEC, NEC, and BS and International electrical Codes;
• Have a thorough knowledge of the international industry codes and standards related to intrinsically safe systems and electrical systems for instrumentation including ISA RP12.6, ISA RP12.2.02, ISA TR12., ANSI MC96.1, IEEE 518, IEEE 1100, IEC 60529, NEMA ICS 6, NEMA 250, NEMA VE 1, NEMA VE 2, NFPA 70/NEC and UL 94;
• Team Player;
• Strong communicator written and oral;
• Strong and effective coordinator;
• Organised, disciplined, able to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities and parallel tasks;
• Strong Microsoft software skills, particularly Excel;
• Report writing skills;

Our client is looking for a technical service representative with preferably a NACE or similar qualification and extensive experience in industrial anticorrosion coatings for metals and other substrates, tank linings etc.

You will inspect installations on customer sites, provide technical support to the sales team and clients, training and demonstrations at customer sites on correct product application, assist with product development, investigate and resolve customer complaints, keep accurate records and ensure quality control is maintained.
