Job Summary
Golden Yolk is a large, established layer poultry farm and they are looking for two Junior Farm Managers – one located in Paarl, and the other in Darling.
This position is ideal for a dynamic person who wants to grow his/her career. The ideal candidate is a neat and proactive individual with excellent leadership, planning and communication skills (Afrikaans and English).
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the management of layer poultry farming and all relevant farming activities
- Assist in the management of poultry houses
- Personnel management
- Ensure that bio-security measures are adhered to
- Assist with production planning
- Assist with stock management and purchases
- Administration of checklists and farming operations
- Assist with maintenance and inventory management of equipment, vehicles and tools
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification (diploma / degree) will be beneficial
- Previous exposure to the agriculture industry will strengthen the application
- Exposure in a layer poultry production environment will be beneficial
- Organisational and planning skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Professional administrative and computer skills
