*? HEAD CHEF | LUXURY SAFARI LODGE ? MPUMALANGA* An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Head Chef to join a premier luxury safari lodge in the Greater Kruger. ? Location: Mpumalanga, South Africa ? Salary: Competitive, depending on experience ? Employment: Full-time ? Working hours: Shift-based / Lodge operational hours *THE ROLE* This is a culinary leadership position focused on driving kitchen performance, maintaining food excellence, and enhancing guest satisfaction. *You will be responsible for:* • Managing overall kitchen operations and enforcing high culinary standards • Designing creative menus and implementing innovative food concepts • Interacting directly with guests to enhance their overall dining experience • Managing food costs, working within kitchen budgets, and reducing waste • Overseeing food production, kitchen hygiene, and strict Health & Safety protocols • Supervising staff canteens to ensure balanced and nutritional meals for the team • Training, mentoring, and leading the kitchen team • Ordering stock, managing inventory, and maintaining equipment • Supporting sustainable lodge operations and eco-friendly practices • Collaborating closely with other lodge departments to ensure smooth operations *IDEAL CANDIDATE* ✔ 3-year Chef Qualification OR a minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar leadership role ✔ Proven menu design capabilities and broad culinary knowledge ✔ Strong background in food costing, stock control, and budget management ✔ Deep understanding of dietary requirements, kitchen timing, and workflow planning ✔ Excellent knowledge of hygiene protocols, cleaning methods, and safety standards ✔ Proven staff management skills and knowledge of labor procedures ✔ Computer literate with strong communication abilities ✔ High standard of personal grooming and physical stamina ✔ South African citizenship or valid SA work permit *?
