Sports & Leisure Centre Manager | Luxury Hotel | George, Western Cape Salary: Negotiable Depending on Experience Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Sports & Leisure Centre Manager for a luxury hotel based in George, Western Cape. This role is ideal for a proactive and enthusiastic individual with a passion for sports, leisure, and guest engagement. Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent (required) Diploma in Sports or Club Management (advantageous) Valid driver’s licence (advantageous) Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a 5-star hotel, resort gym, or sports/golf club in a supervisory or managerial capacity Strong knowledge of various leisure and sporting activities (e.g. children’s programming, golf, tennis, cycling, hiking) Understanding of local and national health and safety regulations Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ERP systems Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute engaging, innovative activities for guests and members to drive participation and revenue Plan and implement vibrant seasonal and festive programmes tailored to a diverse clientele Lead marketing and communication efforts to promote leisure activities and maximise visibility Stay informed on trends in resort-based leisure to ensure offerings remain fresh and competitive Ensure all leisure facilities meet health, safety, and quality standards Oversee the daily operations of the Sports & Leisure Centre and Kids Club Manage departmental budgets and ensure financial goals are met Recruit; train, mentor, and manage a high-performing team Oversee administrative tasks such as stock control, ordering, and inventory Deliver consistently high levels of guest satisfaction through exceptional service Handle guest feedback and complaints in coordination with Guest Relations and monitor feedback platforms (e.g. Medallia, TripAdvisor) Coordinate specialist childcare services where required (including babysitting and care for special needs) Required Competencies: Excellent time management and organisational abilities Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Clear and professional communication, both verbal and written High attention to detail, resilience, and reliability Effective problem-solving skills Friendly; professional, and guest-focused attitude Additional Requirements: Physically fit and capable of meeting the demands of the role Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and public holidays, as operationally required This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional to take the lead in delivering exceptional leisure experiences within a luxury hotel environment.
