Job Summary
Large Hotel in Cape Town is looking for an experienced, methodical, diligent and detail-oriented Stock Control Coordinator responsible for the handling of stock ; managing and overseeing inventory levels of food, beverages, and other operational supplies within a highly pressurised hotel environment. The primary goal is to ensure that the right stock is available at the right time, minimizing waste and avoiding shortages that could impact service and the operations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of food; beverages ; and inventory systems and possess the physical capability to manage high-volume stock deliveries within a hotel environment Duties: Receive and inspect stock deliveries for accuracy and quality. Allocate; store, and pack stock in designated locations. Issue stock to relevant departments or personnel as needed. Enter transfers and invoices into the ERP or similar inventory control system. Assist with stock variance checks and conduct spot checks for stock counts. Perform and capture 10-day and 20-day stock takes. Maintain temperature logs for fridges and freezers to ensure compliance with standards. Spot check supplier vehicle temperatures and cleanliness upon delivery. Keep bulk storage areas neat, clean, and organized. Administer admin related tasks as required Collaborate with all departments to ensure operational support in scope of responsibility Requirements: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a 4/ 5 * hotel environment Knowledge of food, food ingredients, and beverages. Familiarity with categories such as packaging, cleaning supplies, wine, and liquor. Proficiency in ERP or similar inventory control systems. Strong understanding of food hygiene and food safety practices. Attention to detail, methodical and efficiency pertaining to area of responsibility Strong organizational skills and analytical skills Ability to move and handle items weighing 40kg+ (e.g., beer kegs) regularly. Capability to transport stock cages and high-volume deliveries (e.g., vegetables and liquor). Physically fit to perform repetitive, heavy-lifting tasks. Well groomed, professional, positive, confident, and calm demeanour with friendly attitude Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism. Strong leadership and team management skills Ability to multitask and work within a fast paced pressurized and team orientated environment Ability to manage conflict and challenging situations with respect and confidence Exceptional communication, interpersonal abilities and excellent telephone and email etiquette Good financial acumen Be well versed in the English language essential and an additional language advantageous Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays as and when operationally required.
