NOW HIRING: Head Chef | Luxury Wine Estate | Franschhoek, Western Cape About the Opportunity Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced, creative and highly skilled Head Chef to lead the culinary team at a prestigious luxury wine estate in Franschhoek, Western Cape. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fine dining, exceptional leadership skills and a passion for creating innovative, high-quality cuisine. This role requires a hands-on professional who can maintain outstanding culinary standards while ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen. Key Responsibilities • Oversee all daily kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation. • Develop and execute innovative seasonal menus highlighting fresh, locally sourced and sustainable ingredients. • Lead, train and motivate the kitchen team to maintain high culinary standards. • Manage food costs, stock control, ordering and supplier relationships. • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health regulations. • Collaborate with management on menu development, special events and unique dining experiences. • Maintain operational efficiency while encouraging creativity and innovation. • Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional fine dining experiences. Key Requirements • Proven experience as a Head Chef within a fine dining restaurant, luxury hotel or prestigious wine estate. • Formal culinary qualification or equivalent professional training. • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Excellent knowledge of modern culinary techniques, menu planning and food presentation. • Experience managing kitchen budgets, food costings, stock control and suppliers. • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills. • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining exceptional standards. • Creative, detail-oriented and passionate about delivering memorable dining experiences. • A hands-on leadership approach with a commitment to staff development and operational excellence. Package • Salary: R50,000 – R60,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience. • Live-out position. • Location: Franschhoek, Western Cape.
