General Manager – Luxury Boutique Manor Location: Franschhoek, Western Cape Start date: As soon as possible About the Property We are a privately owned, 10 bedroom luxury boutique guesthouse/hotel located in the heart of the Franschhoek Winelands. The Manor offers an intimate, guest experience with a strong focus on personalised service and attention to detail. We are seeking an experienced General Manager to take full operational responsibility for the day-to-day running of the property and to work closely with the owners to elevate the guest experience and operational performance. Key Responsibilities Overall management of the property, ensuring smooth daily operations Deliver an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure Manage; train and lead staff across all departments (front of house, housekeeping, breakfast/service) Oversee guest relations, reservations, check-ins/check-outs and special requests Ensure high standards of cleanliness, presentation and service at all times Handle guest feedback, reviews and service recovery professionally Manage supplier relationships, stock control and operational costs Ensure compliance with health & safety, labour and hospitality regulations Assist with budgeting, reporting and basic financial controls Be hands-on and present during peak periods, including evenings Minimum Requirements Proven experience as a General Manager or Assistant Manager in a luxury guesthouse, boutique hotel or similar hospitality environment Strong leadership, organisational and people-management skills Exceptional guest-service mindset with attention to detail Able and willing to work evenings; weekends and public holidays as required Own reliable transport (essential) Must live within the surrounding Winelands / Franschhoek, Stellenbosch or Paarl area Computer literate (PMS systems, email, reporting) Fluent in English (additional languages advantageous) Professional appearance and conduct at all times Please indicate current notice period in application What We Offer Opportunity to manage a boutique property Competitive salary package, aligned with experience Performance-based incentives
