MAJOR PROJECT SALES

Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
Territory: KwaZulu-Natal
Salary: R50 000 – R90 000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Major Project Sales professional will be responsible for achieving agreed sales revenue and product margin targets while developing and maintaining a strong pipeline of small, medium and major projects across KwaZulu-Natal.

The role requires a commercially driven sales professional who can build strong relationships with key project stakeholders, provide technical product expertise and drive opportunities from initial specification through to order completion.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, customers, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders to identify opportunities, promote technical solutions and maximise market potential within the major projects sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Achieve agreed sales revenue and product margin targets.

• Develop new business and maintain existing customer relationships across KwaZulu-Natal.

• Build and manage a strong pipeline of small, medium and major projects.

• Identify and maximise opportunities within the major projects market.

• Engage with customers and relevant supply-chain stakeholders to promote product systems and solutions.

• Provide technical expertise and advice on product applications, functionality and benefits.

• Communicate the company's value proposition effectively to key decision-makers and project stakeholders.

• Develop and maintain sustainable relationships with key stakeholders within the projects market.

• Achieve agreed sales conversion and closure targets.

• Provide accurate monthly forecasts covering current pipelines, active projects and completed/closed projects.

• Maintain accurate sales forecasts for existing opportunities and potential new product opportunities.

• Drive the sales process from product specification through to completion of the customer order.

• Identify new market and business development opportunities in collaboration with marketing, product management and sales teams.

• Coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders when product performance or technical issues arise.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and opportunity information on the CRM system.

• Provide product and technical training to customers and relevant stakeholders in line with agreed annual targets.

• Participate in trade shows, workshops and industry events when required.

• Monitor competitor activity and provide management with relevant market intelligence.

• Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, customer requirements and project activity within KwaZulu-Natal.

• Comply with all company policies, procedures and ethical standards.

• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will be a results-driven major projects sales professional with a strong understanding of technical products and project-based selling.

The role would suit an individual who is confident dealing with multiple stakeholders, technically capable of presenting product solutions, commercially astute and experienced in managing a sales pipeline from specification through to final order.

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS

• Basic salary: R50 000 – R90 000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
