About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced, self-driven Recruiter seeking a flexible opportunity to earn commission. This role is ideal for someone with an established network who enjoys working independently and has a strong ability to source, screen, and place high-quality candidates across various industries.
You will manage the full recruitment lifecycle on live mandates as they arise, with direct rewards tied to successful placements. This opportunity is well-suited to individuals between roles, consulting part-time, semi-retired, or looking to supplement their income while maintaining flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders to understand hiring needs and develop accurate role briefs
- Source candidates through multiple channels, including LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, and personal networks
- Conduct initial screening interviews to assess skills, cultural fit, and motivation
- Shortlist and present qualified candidates with clear written summaries
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers
- Manage candidate communication and feedback throughout the recruitment process
- Negotiate offers and support candidates through placement and onboarding
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of candidates for future and recurring roles
- Recruit across various industries and levels as mandates arise
- Manage relationships with clients, partners, and candidates
Minimum Requirements
- 2–5 years of proven recruitment experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Demonstrated track record of successful placements across multiple sectors
- Strong sourcing capability, including LinkedIn Recruiter and Boolean search techniques
- Based in Johannesburg, with the ability to meet candidates and clients when required
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Own laptop, reliable internet connection, and smartphone
- Legal right to work in South Africa
Preferred Attributes
- Existing candidate database or strong professional network in Gauteng
- Experience recruiting across diverse functions (e.g., finance, operations, sales, tech, admin)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) or CRM tools
