As a result of an awarded major EPCM project in Namibia, our client is seeking a motivated Lead Material Controller to join on site project team on a 6:2 roster
This position will be responsible for the ensuring the smooth flow of materials and components through the project.
About the role
- Monitor and manage the flow of materials and supplies to meet production and operational needs.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries of materials and components.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, material usage, and order status.
- Work closely with the production team to forecast material requirements and prevent shortages.
- Perform regular stock checks and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Manage material storage, organization, and stock rotation to optimize space and minimize waste.
- Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and follow up on backorders. Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and help maintain a clean, organized workspace.
About you
- Relevant Warehousing Qualifications (Preferred)
- Proficient in using inventory management software, Pronto and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Proven experience in materials control, inventory management, or a similar role (experience in manufacturing or production is a plus).
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
