HEAD CHEF ? Franschhoek | Premium Restaurant A well-established destination restaurant and bakery set within a luxury brand is seeking an experienced and hands-on Head Chef to lead all kitchen and food operations. This is a high-volume yet quality-driven environment ; offering a refined sit-down dining experience alongside an artisanal bakery and product-focused culinary offering. The kitchen works closely with front-of-house, cellar, and retail teams to deliver a seamless guest journey rooted in excellence, consistency, and innovation. Key Responsibilities • Oversee full restaurant and bakery kitchen operations • Lead daily service, menu execution, and food quality standards • Design and develop menus ensuring creativity, balance, and consistency • Manage stock control, food cost, wastage, and monthly stocktakes • Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff through hands-on leadership • Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and safety regulations • Collaborate with FOH and cellar teams to support the overall guest experience • Maintain operational excellence across service, prep, and back-of-house systems The Ideal Candidate • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a quality restaurant environment • Strong leadership and staff development skills • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail • Comfortable managing both restaurant and bakery operations • Passionate about food, service excellence, and team growth • Able to thrive in a structured, fast-paced, and guest-focused setting ✨ This role offers the opportunity to lead a respected culinary operation within one of the Cape Winelands’ most established hospitality environments.
