Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent (after 3-month probation period)

Hours: Monday to Friday, standard commercial office hours (flexibility occasionally required for month-end reconciliations, billing cut-offs, or urgent maintenance projects)

Key Responsibilities
Tenant Debtors & Billing: Maintain the tenant age analysis, execute rental/debt collections, generate monthly billing statements, prepare adjustment journals, handle reconciliations, and calculate tenant deposit refunds.
Utility Recoveries & Municipal Accounts: Administer utility recoveries and import tenant billing; reconcile municipal accounts against the general ledger; open and close municipal accounts; and control prepaid electricity payments via council portals.
Creditors & Cashbook Management: Execute full creditors functions on the property management system; manage daily ABSA bank downloads and upload to system ledgers; perform daily cashbook reconciliations; process bond accounts and Director credit card slips; and manage petty cash.
Audit Preparation: Assist the Financial Accountant with annual external audit preparations and resolve audit-related queries.
Property Maintenance Co-ordination: Assist with the planning and implementation of preventative maintenance schedules; process job cards; obtain comparative supplier quotes; track materials and stock; and monitor maintenance deadlines and budgets.
Stakeholder Liaison: Handle tenant queries and concerns professionally; deal with city councils; and liaise closely with contractors, suppliers, and internal maintenance teams.
Are You the Perfect Fit?
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Grade 12 / Matric PLUS a completed Degree, National Diploma, or Certificate in Accounting or a related financial field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in property administration, property bookkeeping, or a similar environment.
Software Proficiency: Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel; ability and willingness to learn specialized property software.
Licensing: Valid South African Driver’s License.
Core Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills, ability to use initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a methodical, collaborative approach.
Beneficial Skills & Experience:
Hands-on knowledge of MDA Property / MRI Property Central systems.
Experience with preventative maintenance planning schedules, contractor management, and project costing.
Strict Legal Requirements & Documentation (Non-Negotiable):
