BIM Engineer | Netherlands
Take your BIM expertise into an international project environment where accurate digital coordination directly influences construction delivery. This opportunity is suited to a technically strong BIM Engineer who enjoys solving complex coordination challenges and working across multiple engineering disciplines.
As BIM Engineer, you will develop, coordinate, and manage intelligent 3D models for complex construction and infrastructure projects. You will work at the intersection of design and delivery, bringing together architectural, structural, and MEP information to identify clashes, maintain model integrity, and help resolve issues before they reach site.
The role requires more than strong modelling capability. You will contribute to BIM standards and information management, administer model information through Common Data Environments, support project teams with technical BIM matters, and ensure digital deliverables meet project requirements including BEPs, EIRs, LOD frameworks, and ISO 19650 principles.
Our client operates within the engineering and project delivery environment, supporting technically demanding construction and infrastructure projects in the Netherlands. Their multidisciplinary approach places a strong emphasis on digital coordination, practical engineering solutions, accurate project information, and effective collaboration between design and construction teams.
What You'll Do
Develop and manage detailed architectural, structural, and/or MEP models using Autodesk Revit.
Integrate models from multiple engineering disciplines into coordinated project or master models.
Conduct clash detection and coordination reviews using Navisworks Manage.
Identify physical and spatial conflicts and work with relevant engineering teams to resolve them before construction.
Ensure modelling activities comply with project BIM Execution Plans, Employer's Information Requirements and applicable BIM standards, including ISO 19650.
Maintain model data integrity and appropriate Level of Development throughout project stages.
Extract quantity take-offs, schedules and other required digital project deliverables.
Manage model sharing, version control, transmittals and approvals through Common Data Environment platforms.
Apply an understanding of construction sequencing, MEP routing and spatial coordination to model development and review.
Troubleshoot BIM-related technical issues and provide guidance to junior drafters, modellers and site teams using BIM tools and viewers.
What You Bring
A National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related technical discipline.
3 to 5 years of dedicated, hands-on BIM coordination and modelling experience within the Architecture, Engineering and Construction sector.
Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit across relevant Architecture, Structure and/or MEP applications.
Advanced working capability in Navisworks Manage, including clash detection and coordination.
Working knowledge of Common Data Environment platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360 or Trimble Connect.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, MEP routing principles, spatial coordination and LOD frameworks.
Knowledge of BIM Execution Plans, Employer's Information Requirements and international BIM frameworks such as ISO 19650.
Familiarity with Civil 3D, AutoCAD and/or Dynamo would be advantageous.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with meticulous attention to detail.
The ability to communicate effectively across design, engineering and construction teams.
Fluency in Afrikaans, with the ability to adapt readily to Dutch.
What Success Looks Like
Accurate, coordinated BIM models that support efficient project delivery.
Clashes and spatial conflicts identified and resolved before they create costly construction issues.
Reliable model data, quantities, schedules and digital deliverables at key project milestones.
Consistent compliance with project BIM requirements and information-management standards.
Effective collaboration between architectural, structural, MEP and construction stakeholders.
Well-controlled model information, revisions and approvals within the project CDE.
Practical technical support that improves BIM adoption and capability across project and site teams.
