MILLING & TURNING OPERATOR

Location: Roodepoort, Gauteng
Hourly Rate: R94.37 per hour

Job Purpose

To set up and operate CNC Milling and Turning machines to manufacture components accurately according to detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications and required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Set up and operate CNC Milling and Turning machines.

• Select and set appropriate speeds, feeds, cutting tools and machining parameters.

• Read and interpret detailed manufacturing drawings and specifications.

• Establish workpiece zero/reference points and verify dimensions.

• Position, secure and correctly align workpieces on the machine.

• Monitor machine operations and identify machining or equipment problems.

• Select and use the correct cutting tools, coolants and cutting fluids.

• Conduct basic quality checks to ensure components meet required specifications.

• Maintain good housekeeping within the work area.

• Ensure completed parts are correctly packed and labelled.

• Follow all company safety, quality and operating procedures.

• Work overtime when required to meet production requirements.

Candidates must be able to set and operate both Milling and Turning machines.

• Goodway

• Lynx Doosan

Experience setting and operating:

• Hyundai-Kia

• Johnford

• Fanuc – Milling and Turning

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

• Proven CNC machine operation and control experience.

• Practical experience setting and operating both CNC Milling and Turning machines.

• Ability to read and interpret detailed manufacturing drawings.

• Ability to select appropriate tools and equipment for machining requirements.

• Strong understanding of machine operation and monitoring.

• Ability to identify and report machining or equipment problems.

• Good attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to perform basic quality inspections and dimensional checks.

• Willingness to work overtime when required.

• Experience with Fanuc-controlled CNC machines.
