Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Firewall / IT Technician to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining IT solutions for clients, with a strong focus on firewall technologies, IT infrastructure management, and cloud solutions. This role requires a lateral thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities, the ability to lead IT projects, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage IT infrastructure projects from initiation to completion.

• Setup, configure, and maintain firewalls (preferably Sophos).

• Administer Microsoft 365 environments, including Admin Centre and SharePoint.

• Perform and oversee email migrations for clients.

• Manage and maintain Windows Servers, desktops, and networking infrastructure.

• Provide advanced desktop and network support, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.

• Support and maintain cloud architectures (Azure), hosted servers, and backup solutions.

• Implement and manage patching, RMM solutions, and endpoint security tools (ESET).

• Setup, maintain, and troubleshoot PABX systems.

• Lead and mentor IT teams, ensuring best practices and service excellence.

• Research and implement tailored IT solutions to meet specific client needs.

• Provide professional, client-facing communication and support.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Firewall setup and maintenance (Sophos preferred).

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in IT team management.

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience working with Microsoft 365 Admin Centre.

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience working with Microsoft 365 SharePoint Admin Centre.

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Email Migrations.

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Windows Server setup, maintenance, and support.

• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Desktop Support.

• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Networking setup, maintenance, and administration.

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Cloud Architecture (Azure).

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience with Cloud-hosted servers.

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience with Hosted Backup solutions.

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience with Patch / RMM Management.

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in ESET setup and maintenance.

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in PABX setup and maintenance.

• A+ / N+ Qualification

• MCSA / MCSE Qualification

• Azure Certification / Qualification

• Firewall Certification (Sophos or equivalent)

• VMware experience

• Relevant IT qualification from a recognized institution
