PBT Group is seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Business Analyst (BIBA) with strong banking experience to join a dynamic client environment in Johannesburg. This role requires a well-rounded professional who combines Business Analysis, Data Analysis, and Process Engineering expertise, with a particular emphasis on process understanding and optimisation.

The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging the gap between business, data, and technology teams, ensuring that data-driven solutions are aligned to business processes and strategic objectives.

? Key Responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business, data, and process requirements
• Analyse and map current (“as-is”) and future (“to-be”) business processes, identifying opportunities for optimisation
• Translate business and process requirements into clear functional and data specifications
• Work closely with data engineers, BI developers, and architects to support solution design and delivery
• Perform data analysis to support business insights, reporting, and decision-making
• Ensure alignment between business processes and data models / BI solutions
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions across business and technical teams
• Support testing processes, including UAT, ensuring solutions meet business and process requirements
• Drive data quality, governance, and consistency across reporting environments
• Document processes, data flows, and business rules in line with best practices

? Key Requirements

• Proven experience as a BIBA / BI Business Analyst within the banking or financial services sector
• Strong combination of:
  • Business Analysis
  • Data Analysis
  • Process Analysis / Process Engineering (essential)
• Demonstrated experience in process mapping, optimisation, and re-engineering
• Solid understanding of data warehousing, BI, and reporting environments
• Strong SQL and data analysis capability
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including data engineers and BI developers
• Familiarity with Agile and/or traditional delivery methodologies
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

? Nice to Have

• Experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Qlik, Tableau)
• Exposure to data governance and data quality frameworks
• Knowledge of banking systems, regulatory environments, or financial data
