Overview
The Junior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for supporting the financial and contractual management of construction projects. The role ensures that project requirements are planned and supplied on time, manages project costings and monthly billings, coordinates plant and fleet servicing, monitors site compliance, and provides accurate reporting to management while maintaining strong cost control and administrative support.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric
Relevant experience in a similar Quantity Surveying or Construction Administration role
Valid Code 08 Driver's Licence
Financial administration experience
Willingness to travel to project sites
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Job Responsibilities
Conduct project needs analysis in conjunction with the Grid Manager.
Ensure all project requirements are supplied to site within agreed timelines.
Compile accurate monthly billings for each site, including damaged tools and cost recoveries.
Coordinate the servicing and maintenance schedules for all plant and fleet.
Maintain and update project spreadsheets for each site.
Verify that all plant equipment and operators are correctly certified before deployment.
Attend site meetings and provide progress and operational feedback to management.
Participate in monthly billing meetings with Head Office to ensure costings are accurate before month-end.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the Service Level Agreement (SLA) to ensure compliance.
Perform additional duties as reasonably required by management.
