Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Pattern Maker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, developing, grading, amending, and preparing garment patterns to meet approved specifications, measurements, fit, and design requirements. The role requires strong technical knowledge of garment construction, pattern development, grading, and fitting, together with practical experience in both manual pattern making and Lectra.
Key Responsibilities
Create and develop garment patterns manually where required
Grade and rate patterns according to approved specifications using the Diamino program
Amend and modify patterns to meet required specifications, measurements, fit, and design requirements
Ensure patterns are accurate and production-ready before release
Check pattern measurements and grading for accuracy and consistency
Make corrections and adjustments based on fit comments, sample evaluations, and technical specifications
Work closely with the design, technical, sampling, and production teams to resolve pattern-related issues
Ensure patterns meet required quality standards and production specifications
Make patterns from pictures, TD’s, both manually and on Lectra
Amend patterns for fits and seals
Give measurements to trims co-ordinator/buyer
Put computer patterns on board and amend to spec
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
Matric
Clothing/Fashion Diploma would be an advantage
5 years working with manual patterns and Lectra
Experience in pattern-making
Experience with Diamino for grading/rating and pattern preparation
Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern development, grading, and fitting
Ability to create and amend patterns manually when required
Good attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to interpret technical specifications and make the necessary pattern adjustments
Ability to work to deadlines and production requirements
