Job Summary
Principal Responsibilities:
Architect and develop the AWS cloud to provide a reliable and consistent colleague/client experience.
- Take a proactive approach to continually reviewing and optimise the AWS environment.
- Implement automated failovers, redundant/HA systems and DR/BC measures to ensure that the company achieves a 99.999% uptime.
- Plan/Execute on projects and other cost savings initiatives.
- Work with IT and business leaders to explain the benefits of design and architecture transformations.
- Mentor and support Systems/Network/Security/Service Desk team on tickets that are above their technical expertise.
Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of AWS hands on experience.
- Very strong technical knowledge of VPCs, CloudWatch, Systems Manager, S3, EC2, Lambda expressions and IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Understand/Execution of AWS Cost Management tools and remediation activities.
- Strong understanding of network concepts is required (DHCP, DNS, VLANS, etc).
- AWS Professional level certification (Solutions Architect).
- Highly self-motived, highly available, and driven to exceed colleague expectation.
- Ability to think critically and logically under pressure.
- Strong technical experience with proven history of troubleshooting complex, cross segment, cross office, and cross team problems.
