Job Summary
CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
|
Support and develop ICT related education technology at the Nelson Mandela University. Research, analyse, evaluate, develop, design, implement, administer, and maintain Information and education technology systems, processes and tools for enhanced learning and teaching. |
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
|
- Provide technical consulting and user support for e-learning, online learning and blended learning environments and resolve technological issues as necessary;
- Provide expertise in educational technology applications and practices that support e-learning, online education and blended learning environments;
- Moodle Learning Management system user support and administration
- Enabling teaching and learning with technology in higher education environments
- Perform preliminary assessment of technology feasibility, business opportunity and cost
- Research, consult, plan, coordinate, deliver and support education technology solutions
- Network nationally and internationally with universities to form communities of practice
- Develop reports and proposals of a high quality
- Procurement of educational and research technologies or services
- ICT Blended Learning support and related administration

CORE COMPETENCIES |

- Possess an in-depth knowledge of the Moodle learning management system
- Possess a thorough understanding of Windows and Linux systems
- Possess a thorough understanding of relational databases
- Knowledge of education technology principles, practices and trends and their application
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Service orientated and good etiquette skills
- Proficiency in using a customer relation management system for helpdesk ticket tracking and management
- Ability to perform under pressure
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to present basic training courses and present ideas
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to manage and direct projects and cross-functional team engagement
- Ability to continuously learn and acquire new skills

REQUIREMENTS
|
|
- Computer related Information Technology related qualification (M+3).
- 3 Years’ experience in which appropriate competencies have been gained
