HR Officer required for wholesale company based in Queenstown. You will be responsible for recruitment and employment and ensuring compliance with DOL, BCEA ad H&S requirements.

Your role will include:

• Ensure all employees are aware of company policies and disciplinary codes
• Capturing employee working schedules and working with finance on wages
• Management of employee benefits (IOD, UIF, provident fund and funeral benefits
• Manage all labour and employment related issues (disciplinary processes, CCMA etc.)
• Drive scheduling and attendance of quarterly meetings

• Relevant Degree/Diploma
• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role

Key Performance Areas:

• ISO45001 implementation and compliance.
• FSSC22000 accreditation and compliance.
• Cost management (Control maintenance and CAPEX budgets).
• Staff supervision and training.
• Machine efficiencies, plant utilization.
• Preventative, scheduled maintenance planning and execution.
• Total asset care which includes facility maintenance.

Minimum requirements

• Full co-ordination of recruitment, advertising, shortlisting, screening, and interviewing of candidates for agreed levels.
• Working knowledge of VIP payroll and Jarrison time and attendance & ensure timeous monthly submissions to Payroll with due consideration of cut-off dates.
• HR Operations feedback in preparation for management meetings.
• Administer engagement surveys and identify and assist with improvement initiatives.
• Organizing & facilitation of meetings ie. and work place forums & Employment Equity meetings including agenda’s and minutes.
• Generate employment equity reports, agenda, minutes – ensure compliance at all times.
• Consult and advise management and staff on labour relations issues.
• Represent the company at CCMA for Conciliation & Arbitration dispute resolution processes.
• Facilitate disciplinary hearings and prepare minutes and documentation, applicable prior to and post hearings.
• Compilation of weekly and monthly reports.
• Staff consultation as and when required, including day to day queries which may arise.
• Organizing monthly employee engagement activities including CSI related community projects.
• Record keeping & filing of all HR-related information according to checklist provided.
• Assist with policy reviews and ensure these are always available and/or accessible to staff.
• Co-ordinate the sourcing, delivery, and evaluation of training to approved plan.
• Maintain all training information required for annual WSP and ATR submissions

• A minimum of least 5 – 7 years relevant working experience in a Human Resources related role within a manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 – 5 years’ managerial experience is required.
• 3 years solid IR and labour relations experience, including dealing with trade unions within a manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 – 5 years’ experience in recruitment, compensation and benefits, training and development, people/performance management, HR policy and regulations and employee retention initiatives.
• HR Cost and Budget management.
• In-depth knowledge of the LRA, BCEA, Skills Development, B-BBEE and EE Acts.

• Managing of the onsite transport contract supplier to ensuring the optimal utilization of available fleet to minimize costs
• Liaising with all relevant stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure on-time-in-full delivery
• Manage and plan daily deliveries to meet customer demands/requirements ensuring fast and efficient service to all customers
• Management of onsite and off-site warehouses.
• Arranging, managing and overseeing stock takes and cycle counts (on and off-site storage warehouses).
• Manage and Monitor driver performance, fuel and cost Management, as well as fleet maintenance.
• Manage stock levels, stock rotation (FIFO), and the controlling of pallets.
• Asset management and effective utilization thereof.
• People management, including performance management and fostering a positive working environment.
• Maintain safe, healthy and risk-free environment. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Effective change management capabilities with the ability to effectively work under pressure.

Minimum requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12 and/or Equivalent
• National Diploma and/or BTECH Degree Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management
• At least 3 – 5 years’ supervisory experience within a Warehousing/Logistics/Distribution FMCG environment
• Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel and Word)
• Code 08 driver’s license
