What You'll Be Responsible For

Financial Controls & Balance Sheet Governance

• Take ownership of the group's balance sheet integrity and reconciliation framework.
• Oversee the review and sign-off of critical balance sheet accounts across multiple entities.
• Monitor and resolve complex reconciling items and financial discrepancies.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information supporting management and statutory reporting.
• Drive accountability around reconciliation ownership and reporting deadlines.

Reporting Integrity & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with group financial policies, governance standards, and reporting requirements.
• Review financial statements, supporting schedules, and tax-related balances.
• Support internal and external audit processes while ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
• Strengthen financial governance and maintain high standards of financial control across the business.

Process Improvement & Finance Transformation

• Lead initiatives aimed at simplifying, standardising, and automating reconciliation processes.
• Identify control weaknesses and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
• Improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and financial visibility across the group.
• Support broader finance transformation and optimisation projects.

Leadership & Business Partnering

• Lead and develop a team responsible for reconciliation and financial control processes.
• Partner with finance, operational, and executive stakeholders across the organisation.
• Provide meaningful insights into risks, trends, and control-related matters.
• Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Requirements

Qualifications

• CA(SA) qualification is essential.
• Relevant Accounting or Finance Degree.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years' experience in Financial Management.
• Strong exposure to:
  • Balance Sheet Management
  • Financial Controls
  • Financial Reporting
  • Reconciliations
  • Audit & Compliance
  • Governance & Risk Management
• Experience operating within a multi-entity or group structure will be highly advantageous.
• Proven people management and leadership experience.

Technical Expertise

• Advanced understanding of financial controls and reconciliation methodologies.
• Strong IFRS and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience reviewing annual financial statements and tax computations.
• Exposure to finance transformation, automation, and process improvement initiatives.
• Strong analytical and investigative abilities.
