Our financial services / investment client in Sandton Johannesburg is looking for an Accountant for Bookkeeping/Accounting. You need 5 years plus experience you need to be strong in EXCEL. Financial Accounting abilities is an added bonus. You need FOREX experience.
Salary up to R 45000
Min Requirement:
- Matric plus relevant financial / accounting qualifications
- Bcom Degree an added bonus
- 5+ years Accounting experience
- FOREX experience essential
- Candidates with Financial Accountant experience would therefore be advantageous
- Strong in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Experience with FOREX and International payments
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Accounting / Bookkeeping duties on an ERP Software system – training to be provided
- Be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records
- Performing reconciliations (cash, credit card, EFT, membership, suppliers, and payment platforms)
- Managing banking and cashbook activities, including month-end processing
- Supporting revenue processes, including reporting, invoicing, and journals
- Handling accounts payable, including payment runs and ageing reviews
- Preparing and capturing invoices
- Investigating and resolving reconciliation queries
- Monitoring unbanked receipts
- Supporting payroll and intercompany accounting
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Assisting with reporting and general finance administration
