Manager HOD Financial needed in Kathu.
Bachelor of Commerce Degree (NQF level 7) in Financial Accounting/ Management Accounting (Essential).
Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree (NQF level 8) or Equivalent (Essential).
Post Graduate Business / Finance Qualification (Essential).
Chartered Accountant: CA (SA) Qualification or equivalent (Recommended).
Valid Driver’s License & Own Vehicle.

7 Years minimum people management experience (Essential).
7 Years minimum operational Financial Manager experience (including responsibility for Financial Accounting/Reporting, Management Accounting and Operational Taxation function) in a large mining environment with total assets under management in excess of R20 billion (Essential).
5 Years minimum operational, statutory, and legal compliance experience (Essential).
3 Years minimum operational auditing experience (Essential).
Minimum of twelve (12) years’ total experience required of which various roles within Finance Functions can run concurrently.
Will be Reporting to the Senior General Manager.
Functions:
Financial Support Services: Oversee Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Payroll, Tax, Supply Chain, Corporate Social Investment & Information Management, and functions.
Co-compile, sign-off and ensure the implementation of financial strategies: Responsible to sign-off and monitor the implementation of the Financial, Payroll, IT and Supply Chain strategies while ensuring strategies meet Mine requirements. Ensure compliance to relevant strategies.
Budget and Business Plan Implementation and Monitoring: Develop the financial inputs in 5-year business plan. Ensure accurate financial forecasting & budgeting. Compile & ensure all processes are in place to enable the effective coordination of the budget. Complete forecasting to inform predicted profit making & cash flow predictions.
Compliance, Corporate Governance, Insurance and Risk Management: Responsible to ensure compliance with all relevant statutory regulations including Companies Act, various Taxation legislation (including but not limited to Royalty Tax, Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Diesel Rebates and Employees Tax) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Ensure relevant King Code IV principles are implemented according to Head Office guidelines & compliance requirements.
Financial Management: Ensure financial control, business planning, forecasting and financial report is reliable and accurate. Provide financial, tax and non-financial information to Corporate Head Office, Stakeholders, and regulatory bodies for consolidation into company results. Provide support for continuous improvement initiatives and advise management on cost control measures and capital spend. Ensure adequate control over assets & company assets are safe.
Financial Reporting and Tax: Ensure all financial accounting and management reporting functions are compliant with relevant legislation and guiding principles. Facilitate, enable, and manage the statutory external audit & ensure that findings and recommendations are addressed. Provide key financial and tax information to Head Office for consolidation into company results.
Operational Governance: Represent the operation at the Audit Committee and Executive Committee. Contact liaison for operational enterprise risk management. Ensure adequate control over assets & company assets are safe. Ensure financial results are reported.
Ensure business plan are implemented: Develop and implement the functional strategic plan in support of the overall business plan.
Ensure legal compliance to enable Mining license to be kept / renewed: Ensure financial obligations and requirement of projects are met. Co-manage the community perceptions of the Mine.
Ensure the BBBEE scorecard is in place for SED and ESD elements and completed on an annual basis, Drive and monitor progress on a continuous basis.
Internal and External Stakeholder Management: Ensure community expectations are addressed and perceptions are managed.
Required Skills:
Good understanding of relevant legislation (IFRS, Mining Tax, Royalty Tax, employee Taxes, etc.)
In-depth understanding of Financial Accounting (statutory responsibility).
Corporate governance principles including King IV and Companies Act.
Knowledge of labour legislation and tax laws and ensure that the employees are exposed to minimal risks.
Understanding of accounting principles and mining tax legislation & ensure up to date with changing demands.
Good understanding of information systems and Operational Oracle / SAP or equivalent Financial Systems experience (including management accounting, financial accounting/taxation, budgeting & forecasting modules).
Sound knowledge of auditing principles, processes & systems.
Management accounting.
Interpret financial modelling.
Financial analysis and interpretations.
Strategic thinking & able to anticipate future events and proactively address issues.
Able to assess & monitor the value add of projects.
Able to communicate with employees & on all levels to top management (Business Acumen).
