Company and Role Overview
Our client, a respected player within the manufacturing sector, is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple areas of finance while contributing to the company's ongoing growth and operational success.You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening financial controls, supporting operational efficiencies, and providing valuable financial insights to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial accuracy
- Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful insights to management
- Manage inventory accounting, stock reconciliations, and cost control processes
- Assist with product costing and manufacturing cost analysis
- Oversee payroll processes and related reconciliations
- Support external and internal audit requirements
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and controls
Requirements
- BCom Accounting degree or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an accounting role
- Previous exposure to a manufacturing environment would be advantageous
- Experience working on ERP systems
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting controls
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
