Job Summary
A growing organisation operating within the engineering and construction project environment is expanding its finance team as new developments gain momentum. They are looking for a detail-driven Accountant to support the Senior Group Accountant on the property development and project management side of the business.
This is a hands-on role where your financial insight directly supports project success from tracking development costs to ensuring that financial reporting remains accurate and reliable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage bookkeeping processes up to balance sheet level
- Prepare journals and maintain general ledger integrity
- Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
- Assist with project cost tracking and financial reporting
- Support month-end processing and management accounts preparation
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
- Support audits and assist the Senior Group Accountant with ad hoc projects
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CIMA studies preferred, or SAIPA qualification advantageous
- Minimum 3+ years accounting experience, ideally within a services or project-based environment
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping through to balance sheet
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Analytical mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced project environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills
