Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Reporting

• Lead and oversee the full finance function across the business.
• Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure timely delivery of management accounts and executive reporting packs.
• Drive the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Analyse financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
• Deliver meaningful financial insights to optimise profitability and business performance.

Technical Accounting & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with IFRS, regulatory requirements, and statutory obligations.
• Manage and oversee the implementation and application of IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
• Strengthen internal controls, governance frameworks, and risk management processes.
• Lead the annual external audit process and manage relationships with auditors.
• Oversee tax compliance, VAT submissions, and statutory reporting obligations.

Operational Finance Management

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Monitor key financial metrics and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
• Drive process optimisation and operational efficiencies across the finance function.
• Partner with business leaders to support growth initiatives and strategic projects.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence.
• Collaborate closely with operational and executive leadership teams to achieve organisational goals.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• CA(SA) or CIMA qualification (essential)
• Postgraduate finance-related qualification advantageous.

Experience

• 8–10 years' experience in a senior financial management role.
• Proven track record managing a full finance function.
• Strong experience within a reporting-intensive environment.
• Practical experience applying IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 (non-negotiable).
• Extensive exposure to budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• Experience managing audits and engaging with external stakeholders.
• Healthcare, medical, pharmaceutical, or related industry exposure will be highly advantageous.

Technical & Professional Skills

• Advanced financial reporting and analytical capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Experience working on ERP systems.
• Strong systems, controls, and process improvement expertise.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial acumen with a strategic mindset.
